Your In-Shop Testing of Our Listings

At Sun Bias, we want our customers to be completely satisfied. Our automotive products meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 302. We are so confident of our products, we actually tell you how to test them. PLEASE NOTE: this test does not meet legal safety standards that are required for lab tests. However, the test lets you see first hand if the our products, or those of our competitors, meet FMVSS 302. (To meet FMVSS 302, materials should burn no faster than 4" per minute.)

1. Cut Sun Bias and competitors listings into equal lengths, approximately 12" long. Hold them in your hand with tongs so that both strips hang down at about 45°. Light with a cigarette lighter or open flame.

CAUTION! The material will drip hot melted plastic materials. Do not touch or bump into them with your hands as the burnt materials drip and stay hot for several minutes after the flame is out. The flame on the burning strips can be blown out. The small flame emits smoke that should not be inhaled.

2. The Sun Bias listing will burn slower compared to others we have tested. At times, our listings seem to self-extinguish, which is proper and normal for fabric that is treated properly.
